How can I join my team on Discord?

Updated over 6 months ago

πŸ₯œ In a nutshell:

To join our supportive Discord community for collaborative learning, sign in or sign up for an account, accept our server invite, select the channels you want to see by answering a few questions and start to engage!

If you're eager to join our Discord community but need assistance accessing the server, we're here to guide you through the process so you can find a supportive environment for collaborative learning.

If you're new and don't already have a Discord account

  1. If you are new to Discord, sign up for an account via this link: https://discord.com.

  2. Unsure how to create an account with Discord? Check out this helpful article by Discord.

  3. If you experience any technical issues, visit our Discord FAQs here:

If you already have a Discord account

  1. Once you've done that, or if you already have an account, join our server here: https://discord.gg/3RpSSkCvux

  2. Click "Accept Invite" to join the "EntryLevel Community" Discord server.

  3. Once you're in, you will be asked a couple of personalized questions. We do this to make sure you get the best out of your community experience.

  4. Next, select the channels that you would love to see. For example, if you would love to showcase your portfolio and keep up to date with job openings, select "Showcase your work" and "See job postings."

  5. If you are new to Discord and find yourself overwhelmed, start with just one option, then come back and add more once you're comfortable.

  6. If you think you know you're way around, select everything for the full community experience!

  7. Next, click on the course you're currently enrolled in or have completed in the past. For example, if you've enrolled in Data Analysis Using Excel & Tableau, you can select the option "Data Analysis using Excel & Tableau." And if you have enrolled in multiple courses, you can select all the relevant courses for you.

  8. Next, select the region you're from. This helps you connect with peers from your area.

  9. Finally, select your enrollment by month. This option is so you can receive updates and news for your specific enrollment. If you have finished your course, or you've not joined one yet, you won't receive those information.

  10. Once you have finished, you will be redirected to our #getting-started channel, where you will learn more about what our Discord community will offer and watch a quick walkthrough video.

Updating your preferences for a different community experience

  1. You can change your preferences at any time! Just navigate to the #channels & roles and customize your experience by selecting different channel options.

  2. If you have any questions, we also have a #help-desk channel on Discord where you can ask them. Or, you can reach out to our support team who'll be happy to help you navigate the community.

We're committed to providing everyone with an excellent community experience to ensure successful course completion. Whether it's assisting with technical issues, fostering collaboration, or offering guidance, our community is the place to find help whenever needed, ensuring a smooth learning journey for all.
